CECP to Host the 8th Annual Board of Boards CEO Conference
February 25 is International Corporate Philanthropy Day (ICPD), which makes for a perfect occasion for the 8th annual Board of Boards CEO Conference, 'Call to Action: Engaged Leadership, Unprecedented Impact," hosted by the Committee Encouraging Corporate Philanthropy (CECP). The event will take place at the McGraw-Hill Companies Headquarters in New York City. Nearly a hundred Fortune 500 CEOs will meetto share the potential that they have in addressing the most pressing global problems and providing effective solutions to them.
Speakers at the conference will include Mosaic's James T. Prokopanko, IBM's Ginni Rometty, Xerox's Ursula Burns, PwC's Bob Moritz, and The Dow Chemical Company's Andrew Liveris. Chris Nurko, Global Chairman of FutureBrand Worldwide will moderate the CEO panel. The conference presents an opportunity for intensive CEO networking, allowing attendees to learn more about their shared commitments through the corporate societal initiatives followed by their individual companies.
The event will also include the award presentation ceremony for the winners of the CECP's Excellence Awards in Corporate Philanthropy, among the most respected in their field. Since 2000, the awards have been presented each year, with an independent Selection Committee of representatives from across sectors as the jury.
The conference is limited to CECP CEO members.
Charles Moore, Executive Director, CECP, says: "We are pleased to see the Board of Boards conference consistently rated as one of the world's top executive gatherings. The designation speaks to the quality of the conversation and the caliber of our visionary guests and speakers. 2013 will be no less impressive and leading edge."
To mark the ICPD, members of CECP will ring The NYSE Closing Bell at the NYSE. The evening will also see several landmarks around the world, including the Empire State Building, lighted in the colors of ICPD. The Taproot Foundation, in partnership with CECP, will host the Pro Bono Summit, coinciding with ICPD, from February 24 to 28, also in New York City.
