CSR Market Research Quiz
Here is a short quiz for anybody interested in market research on consumer spending related to sustainability. In my Monday post about the Earth Day luncheon I attended last week, I mentioned that LOHAS and its affiliated market research group estimates U.S. consumer spending from people interested in health and the environment at $290 billion.
But what does this figure include and how it divided? Instead of telling you outright, I thought I would present a pop quiz. Last week, LOHAS issued a press release* with a breakdown of the $290 billion into the following six categories:
.
Alternative Energy (renewable power)
Alternative Transportation (includes hybrids, diesel vehicles, electric vehicles, car sharing, etc.)
Eco-tourism (includes travel spent on excursions in nature)
Green Building (includes certified homes, Energy Star appliances, etc.)
Natural Lifestyles (includes home furnishings, apparel, etc.)
Personal Health (includes natural/organic food, personal care, supplements, etc.)
So, without further ado, I present to you the CSR Market Research Quiz. Please rank the above six categories by market size from largest to smallest. Feel free to use the comments section of this post to wager your guesses. The winner may not come away with a three pound swag bag, but will get a shout out in my follow up post!
*Please note that the answers to this quiz are contained in a press release on the LOHAS website--- no peeking please!
