Flipping the John Bird

 Here's a compelling Cambridge Business Lecture by UK social entrepreneur John Bird, founder of The Big Issue. Bird provides for social enterprise what Reinhold Niebuhr gave liberal Christian social reform in the early 20th century--an antidote to an idealized, and ultimately self-defeating, image of human goodness. As Bird emphasizes in refreshingly no-nonsense language, the only way we can truly help people is to take them as they are. |
