Get Organized With Web 2.0 Service WorkFlowy
From the dawn of the internet there has always been a plethora of web 2.0 services that claim to deliver on the promise of making life easier. From apps that manage task lists, to reminder services, to the never ending amount of to do organizers, there is always something new surfacing. Unfortunately most of these service are too complicated for their own good or unintuitive. Enter Workflowy. It's a web 2.0 service that actually delivers on the promise of making life easier. No really ladies and gentlemen, this one is worth your time. In about a week of using Wokflowy, I've become a huge supporter and an avid user. It's my favorite and there isn't much competition.
Lazy
That's me. Actually, to be worded more appropriately, I'd say I'm more busy and temperamental more than anything. Whenever I used a to do list I'd get frustrated when it came to keeping up with it. I'd use it for a couple of days and then fall behind. Tasks would pile up and I'd schedule meetings and forget about them. In this Web 2.0 world I'm a busy guy who takes on meetings regularly and I've always got something (tons of things) on my plate. The joy's of self employment.
Keep it simple
I like WorkFlowy due to the fact that is stupidly simple. When you first sign up you are presented with a blank canvas. Add what you want and organize how you please. It can be used to make lists consisting of ideas, meetings, tasks, brainstorming sessions, or what have you. It's like a simplified Evernote. Add a line, and then sub-categorize it as you please.
For example: I created a bullet point called blogs. Under that bullet point I listed several blogs I write for. Under the Justmeans bullet point I created several more bullet points for solid ideas, maybe ideas, and not so sure ideas. It's a simple way to organize the brain. It's minimalistic and non flashy. The best part is that it's up to you. Make WorkFlowy work for you and use it as much or as little as you want. Highlight over bullet points and add notes or mark it as completed or delete if it's no longer needed. It really is that simple
What's next?
WorkFlowy is brand new and has that new Web 2.0 service smell to it. It's not ready for the big time yet. It doesn't even have an iPhone app. Why not!?
It's got a lot of promise though and I shall continue to use it and I recommend that you give it a try. It's one of the best Web 2.0 services of the year. On the bottom of the WorkFlowy page it proudly states "make lists not war". It's a great mission statement. Let's hope WorkFlowy receives the attention it deserves.
