Going Green Just Got More Appealing

 If you are a techie and you're interested in going green, you may have already heard about the slew of new gadgets, gizmos, and thing-a-ma-bobs showcased at the latest Consumer Electronics Show in the beginning of January. Among the many shiny new goodies in the works from the top brands in electrics were plenty that were geared toward saving energy and making the world of appliances a bit more eco-friendly. It is no surprise that businesses are taking advantage of the burgeoning market for more efficient technology and if it takes a promise of sales to get them on the green train so be it!Are you never without your laptop? Well you will love the latest line out from Sony VAIO; the W Series is being coined the 'Eco Edition' and this tiny little diddy is not only boasting an Energy Star Rating of 5 but is further coming in a fun green hue that is created out of recycled CD's! What's more is that the accompanying tote is made out of recycled plastic bottles. For the movie obsessed who are looking to experience their favorite visual media out while going green, you can scoop up a Casio Green Slim Projector that beams a lumen count of 2,000 working off of a combined laser and LED system. What makes this an eco dream? It contains no mercury what so ever and not only is this the first to ever be introduced touting this but the omission of mercury is said to then increase the life span of these projectors. Nearly everyone is never without a cellphone, and now you can charge them up with solar chargers that are going to eliminate the energy sucking charging methods of the past. But one that is a bit more off beat is the Dynamo Hub that will collect the energy you create when pedaling your bike and then convert that to then be used to power up not only a cellphone but an iPod and other similar devices as well. And lighting fixtures were all the rage in the race to making more efficient LEDs more realistic for general use. There are the Solarbulbs from Miniwiz that will not only supply you with energy from the light of that great big yellow orb in the sky, but they look quite spiffy in lime green, blue, and hot orange colors and in a little circle that affix atop outdoor lights. There are even LEDs that are smaller than a Tylenol but more powerful than any outdoor street light. In keeping with the going green times, this convention was a tribute to Mother Nature and kicked the new year off in true energy efficient style. It's getting more and more easy to surround ourselves and our homes with eco-friendly technology and even look cool while doing it. With the astounding array of recycled accessories for phones, iPods, and home entertainment systems soon you can be experiencing the green effect in virtually every facet of your life. |
