I am a staff writer for Justmeans on Social Enterprise. When I am not writing for Justmeans, I wear my other hat as a PR professional. Over the years I have worked with high-profile organisations within the public, not-for-profit and corporate sectors; and won awards from my industry. I now run my own UK consultancy, Serendipity PR & Media; I am a firm believer in the power of serendipity...
Introducing myself - Sangeeta Haindl, Justmeans New Social Media Writer
Hello! I am delighted and proud to be on the Justmeans editorial team, writing about social media. It was the power of social media that connected me to Justmeans; I saw on one of my RSS feeds that Justmeans was looking for experienced writers based anywhere in the world and so all the way from London, sitting behind my laptop I decided I wanted to very much be a part of the Justmeans respected and high-profile platform...and well, the rest is history.
I am a PR professional who has substantial award winning experience in creating and managing successful branding and communications programmes, engaging with big brands and the media. I have worked with high-profile organisations within the public, not-for-profit and corporate sectors and now run my own consultancy. Along the way I have had my 'Andy Warhol 15 minutes of fame', crisis managing a 'famous incident' when the then Prime Minister Tony Blair, was slow handclapped off the stage at Wembley Arena, making international and national news for weeks. I also have had the privilege to work on some inspirational PR and media campaigns which have stayed with me for a long time, such as - Times Higher Education Supplement's Appeal for the Children of Afghanistan; the 2002 Earth Summit South Africa working with high-profile names such as Prof. Jacqueline McGlade, Director, European Environment Agency; Charles Secrett, Britain's leading environmentalist and Vandana Shiva, Ecofeminist.
Right now it is what I am doing for Justmeans that really excites me - writing about social media! I am absolutely passionate about this subject; I firmly believe social media and social media networking is changing the way we live our lives and do business. Each week I intend to bring you stories that I think you should know about; stories that will be of interest to you personally, professionally and for business. I will write about the latest social trends; things that are about to happen; about Facebook, twitter, LinkedIn; latest technology; and items that are making a difference.
I am very interested is the relationship between social media, social media networking and serendipity. I believe that the more you work with and understand social media the more chances are for serendipity to occur and that for obvious reasons serendipity is good for business - it can help businesses to grow and be winners. Serendipity is strange and unpredictable. It happens more when you work harder, but doesn't come about because you tried hard; when it strikes it is special. That we can create as much or as little serendipity we want in our lives and operates like the 'butterfly effect'.
So, each week as I tap away from across the miles in the city of London my mission is to delight, inform, tickle your social media curiosity and engage with you; hoping that my posts are having a 'butterfly effect' and that you enjoy them. Thank you!
