Planned Parenthood Feeling Good Vibrations

Planned Parenthood organizations have faced serious opposition through the years, but one California location has found support from a seemingly unlikely source: adult toys and novelties.

Planned Parenthood provides sex education and medical support to people at a low cost. Recently, legislation was introduced that would ban Planned Parenthood from receiving any federal funding, leaving many of the branches and their customers in the lurch.

Good Vibrations, a company known for its adult sex toys and novelties, has stepped up to help the Planned Parenthood Shasta Pacific raise funds to keep their services going.

Shasta serves San Francisco, as well as 16 other counties and customers throughout northern California. Customers of Good Vibrations retail stores can provide a financial gift to the organization when purchasing their items. The company will help Planned Parenthood raise funds throughout the months of April and May. This is not the first time Good Vibrations has teamed up with Planned Parenthood to help raise funds, and it will not likely be the last.

Good Vibrations COO, Jackie Strano, has said the company supports the commitment and services Planned Parenthood provides to women. Planned Parenthood has stood by women for 95 years and Good Vibrations will stand by Planned Parenthood.

In fact, Good Vibrations has a donation and sponsorship branch called "GiVe" that has partnered with hundreds of organizations, both locally and nationally, through product donation, advertising and sponsorship support. The company has helped women's shelters, breast cancer awareness organizations and many others.

Good Vibrations is not the only adult organization that has opened up their wallets and offered support throughout the years. Many adult film and toy and novelty companies throw their support to various charities, many times, anonymously. Despite the infamy associated with their business, adult films and novelty companies have made a significant impact on charitable organizations over the years, through social enterprise and venture capitalism.
