Social Innovation Summit in Silicon Valley
Silicon Valley is playing host to the Social Innovation Summit, a private forum dedicated to solving some of the world's toughest social problems through collaborative efforts and innovative business models. The summit is sponsored by Waggener Edstrom Worldwide, a leading communications company, and is organized by Landmark Ventures, a global investment bank and advisory firm.
The summit includes talks on social transformation by eminent venture capitalists, leading philanthropists and Fortune 500 executives. Top leaders from different sectors in Silicon Valley and beyond, including Microsoft, Twitter, Facebook, and the United Nations and White House, are lending their voices and sharing their ideas at the summit.
The Social Innovation Summit is a private forum that will explore the next big ideas for social change, as well as business innovations and tools that are creating real social transformation across the government, corporate, financial and non-profit sectors.
Participants at the summit also include government leaders, social entrepreneurs, emerging market investors and heads of non-profit foundations that are eager to discuss social challenges, devise innovative approaches to social problem solving, and develop fruitful partnerships to effect positive social change.
The summit will cover the most critical and compelling subjects in social innovation, including how the integration of business agenda and social good can lead to social gains and returns on investment. A detailed conversation will be held with Intel, Microsoft and the X Prize Foundation about the ideal practices that can drive effective social innovation.
The Social Innovation Summit will also present a fireside chat with the new director of the Office of Social Innovation, Jonathan Greenblatt. Facebook and DonorsChoose.org will discuss their perspectives on leveraging social media networks for innovation.
Jean-Louis Robadey, Senior Vice President of Social Innovation at Waggener Edstrom, says, "Silicon Valley has a long history of innovation and is now embracing the power of Social Innovation. We live in an unprecedented time when businesses are joining forces with leading governmental agencies, social enterprises and non-profits to develop game-changing solutions to some of the world's toughest problems, and it's happening right here."
