Sustainable Brands Announces Competition Finalists
Getting the chance to present a new business in front of specialists is a dream for many start-ups and this is the opportunity that Sustainable Brands Innovation Open (SBIO) will give to eight finalists when the event takes place in San Diego between June 4 and 7.
AgriLab Technologies, Bike and Park, KeyWifi LLC, Eco Filtro, PlanetReuse Marketplace, Solar Mosaic, The Mutual and Sea Level will have the opportunity to pitch to over 1,000 sustainable brand business leaders, including social and sustainable investors, executives from leading companies, top brand consultants and other similar companies. They will also be seen by a global live-stream audience.
The announcement was made today by Sustainable Brands, an initiative designed to improve learning and business opportunities for sustainable companies. The winning company will be awarded a free pass to SB'13, will get consultancy time with investors, designers and communications professionals, besides other prizes and perks to be announced at the conference.
"Innovation is about imagination and action and plays a critical role in the sustainability revolution," said KoAnn Vikoren Skrzyniarz, Founder/Chief Catalyst of Sustainable Brands. "SBIO is a chance for sustainability and socially-conscious entrepreneurs to stand out from the crowd, win the support of business leaders and grow into full-blown sustainable brand game-changers."
The June event features a speaker line-up of more than 150 business and design leaders from several industries. They will be addressing a range of environmental and social issues that demand innovation to tackle them. Under the banner "The Revolution Will Be Branded," there will be over 80 sessions exploring the unfolding market drivers and cutting-edge strategies for building business and brand value by innovating for sustainability. Speaker includes representatives from CNN, Solar City, LUSH, among many others.
During the event, each day will kick off with plenary sessions to inspire interactive discussions, followed by facilitated break-out sessions, evening plenaries, Birds-of-a-Feather dinners and networking activities. Every activity and session is designed to help executives make the business case for sustainable brands and better understand the shift in consumer demand and behavior that calls for innovation.
