There must be 158 Ways to Save the Planet

earthbluemarblewestterra1

Samuel Mann Ph.D. is an associate professor at Otago Polytechnic, in Dunedin, New Zealand.

He is an instructor in computing (software engineering, interaction design) and holds the institution's Education for Sustainability Portfolio.

He also runs a great blog called "Computing for Sustainability"

While I have followed his excellent blog for about a year, his recent posts are over the top.

He currently has a growing list of models (158 so far!!) of/for sustainability he has retrieved from various sources around the globe.

I am in awe. What a great resource. Thank youSam !

While I was going through the list I suddenly began to sing Paul Simon's 1975 song "50 ways to leave your lover" in my head.( here is a live version on youtube)except the lyrics were changed

They went

"The problem is all inside our head's you see
The answer is easy if we take it logically
I'd like to help you in your struggle
To be free, there must be 158 ways to save our planet"

The original chorus after that goes:

You just slip out the back, Jack
Make a new plan, Stan
you don't need to be coy, Roy
Just get yourself free
Hop on the bus, Gus
you don't need to discuss much
Just drop off the key, Lee
and get yourself free.

Any lyricists want to re-write it for Earth day on April 22nd?

I guess we had better check-in with Paul Simon first.
