Verisk Health Quality Intelligence Solution Certified by NCQA

The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) has granted a full certification to Verisk Health for its Quality Intelligence solution. The solution is ready for 2013 Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS) reporting. This is the 12th year in a row that the company has earned a full certification.

Verisk Health's association with NCQA goes back a long way. It has been acting as a certification beta-testing vendor for NCQA since 2003, and achieving certification each year since 2001. NCQA has set up a process of annual updating of the measurements in order to keep HEDIS current. The HEDIS Software Certification process of NCQA requires solution providers to get a re-certification each year to ensure compliance with the most current quality measures.

Nathan Gunn, MD, chief operating officer of Verisk Health, says: "Each year brings new challenges and opportunities. This year, we are especially pleased to deliver a fully-certified solution early in the reporting season and are poised to offer additional support in light of the new May 15 medical record abstraction deadline. And we are happy to say that this year we will be including measure set support for Accountable Care Organizations, Five-Star initiatives, and Physician Quality and Reporting Systems, as well as performing abstraction and retrieval services for several of our HEDIS clients."

Verisk Health engine processes claims from nearly 21 percent of the insured population in the United States, which accounts for more than 2.2 billion claims every year. Payers and providers make use of the Verisk Health Quality Intelligence solution to track, measure and benchmark compliance with clinical standards. Managed care organizations can view results quickly and efficiently for each HEDIS sample, measure and chase calculation performed, with the help of this solution.

Important uses of the solution include calculation of HEDIS measures from healthcare data source, analysis of HEDIS data, collection of hybrid medical record data, review and retrieval of medical records and development of custom measures for clinical reporting initiatives.
