Arizona’s Burgarello earns $10,000 for college and highlights MLB Symposium at Area Code Games

The MLB Symposium, which is held during each year of the New Balance Area Code Baseball Games for the participating players and their families, took place Wednesday night at the Long Beach (Calif.) Marriott.

The highlight of the evening was the presentation of the first New Balance Game Changer Award, which went to Marco Burgarello from Phoenix, Ariz.

Tim Sabo, the Marketing Manager for New Balance Baseball, announced the winner in a unique way… by showing a video of New Balance baseball players congratulating the winner and then revealing the name.  Here’s the actual video shown at the symposium:

Burgarello will receive a $10,000 college scholarship and will have $2,500 of New Balance merchandise donated to his favorite charity.
