Sean Boucek From Booz Allen San Diego Named Among AFCEA’s “40 Under 40”

In April, Sean Boucek added yet another label to this list: the 2020 “40 Under 40” award by AFCEA International, a global organization for professionals working in communications, IT, intelligence, and global security.
A rich roster of contributions
As a member of the 2020 AFCEA 40 Under 40, Boucek joins awardees from the military, leading research institutions, and multinational corporations who have made a significant contribution to their organization or a client through the use of information technology or provided innovation and thought leadership in a technical STEM field.
“Sean is widely recognized as an innovative leader and dedicated mentor in the DoD IT field and actively contributes in the community across many fronts,” said Senior Vice President Jennie Brooks. Some of Sean’s highlights from over 10 years spent at Booz Allen include:
- Introducing machine learning and robotic process automation to government program offices to save time and money
- Prototyping the use of cloud edge devices within the afloat environment (e.g. ships, boats, vessels at sea)
- Orchestrating a Concept of Operations and Systems Engineering plan to improve the quality and speed of IT system development
- Building FIRST LEGO League STEM robotics challenges for students in grades 4 through 8
A growing epicenter of innovation
This is AFCEA’s second consecutive award for an employee of Booz Allen’s San Diego office. Last year, the organization named Chief Technologist Joe Rohner to its “40 Under 40” list.
Rohner manages a diverse team delivering data science, artificial intelligence, and analytics solutions for the U.S. Navy. Boucek is responsible for the development and application of systems engineering practices across many of the Navy’s program offices. Together their efforts contribute to the growth of Booz Allen’s San Diego office, the firm’s largest outside of the DC area.
