Watch Online: The Rise of the Military Spouse Career - More Than Just a Job

Nov 23, 2015 10:45 AM ET

For military spouses who want to work, many pursue positions that are mobile and transferable, such as child care or retail sales, despite having the qualifications and desire to pursue careers in other industries. As a result, many military spouses find themselves unemployed or underemployed.

Booz Allen Hamilton knows the value of military spouses. Last week the firm hosted a lively panel discussion on how companies can realize the potential of this demographic. That discussion is available to view free online!

The all-military spouse panel includes Booz Allen Hamilton Vice President Cathy Breeze; Victory Media Vice President of Military Spouse Programs Suzie Schwartz; and Associate Director of the DoD Office of Family Readiness Policy Eddy Mentzer.

The session is jam packed with personal stories and insights based on years of maintaining diverse careers as military spouses. The panelists provided their advice on everything from interviewing to career planning to the best career fields for military spouses right now (HINT: not teaching or nursing).

The panel discussion was hosted by Booz Allen’s Military Spouse Forum as part of its Military Family Appreciation Month celebrations.
