The Chronicle of Philanthropy has named Wells Fargo No. 3 on its list of top corporate donors in the U.S. for 2015.

Wells Fargo donated $281.3 million to 16,300 nonprofits in 2015 and is the top-ranked financial services company on the list of corporate donors.

“We’re humbled when others recognize Wells Fargo’s efforts to help build resilient, sustainable communities,” says Jon Campbell, head of Government and Community Relations. “But the real honor is knowing that our support is changing lives, transforming communities, and making a lasting impact for our customers, our neighbors, and our world.”

Wells Fargo has ranked among the top 10 in corporate donations since 2009, each year that the Chronicle of Philanthropy has released its report. According to the magazine, only Gilead Sciences (a biopharmaceutical company) and Wal-Mart donated more money to charities in 2015.

Wells Fargo recently announced a new 2020 Corporate Social Responsibility commitment, which includes priorities and goals to help address economic, environmental, and social issues through products and services, culture and operations, and more than $665 million in corporate philanthropy.
