1,200 People Are Moving for Microcredit during the Whole Planet Foundation Virtual 5K
Pivoting from a physical 5K Run in Austin, Texas to an online event due to COVID-19 has meant partners are joining Whole Planet Foundation from a safe distance to alleviate poverty through microcredit around the globe. On average, microcredit loans are less than $200 and enable low-income entrepreneurs, mostly women, to start or develop their own small businesses to support their families. Whole Planet Foundation alleviates poverty in the United States and 76 other countries.
Join 1,200+ participants by signing up for Whole Planet Foundation’s Power Your Purpose Virtual 5K to run, walk, bike or move for microcredit in any way that suits you. 100% of registration fees for this online event will go to fund microlending programs through Whole Planet Foundation. Participants will enjoy various online discount codes from event partners and get to take a virtual trip to Haiti to see Hope for Haiti's work in healthcare and economic opportunity.
Whole Planet Foundation’s Ten Thousand Dollar Fund members are Virtual 5K honorees and amplifiers of the online event. Special thanks to Bragg, Divina (Foodmatch), Evolve, Guayaki, Mad Hippie, Nuun Hydration, ORGANIC INDIA, Primal Kitchen, Pukka Tea, The Seaweed Bath Co., Truff, and Vital Farms.
Event sponsors make it possible for proceeds to benefit microcredit clients and engage participants with online discounts and sweepstakes fun. The 5K was initially powered by Brooksource and their generous $5,000 sponsorship to start creating the event. Gold Sponsor Hiball Energy has been supporting Whole Planet Foundation for years with a $50,000 annual donation, powering the potential of entrepreneurs through their generosity. Silver Sponsor FlexPrint started supporting Whole Planet Foundation last year with a $25,000 donation and is continuing their support in 2020 through the Virtual 5K. Medal Sponsor Truff generously shipped their hot sauce and Whole Planet Foundation medals to the first 500 registrants. Media Sponsor Austin Fit Magazine helped promote the 5K. Bronze Sponsors are Brazi Bites, Freestyle Language Center, Jessica’s Natural Foods, PACT, Shoes for Crews and Urban Betty. Copper Sponsors include Cedar’s Foods, Claire Sommers Buck Jewelry, Global CommUnity, Kettle & Fire, Lucid Routes Luxury Travel and The Home Selling Pro Team.
