AMD 2010 Corporate Responsibility Report

 

AMD is pleased to present its 16th consecutive corporate responsibility report. This year’s report covers some major changes for AMD and sets the company’s future direction for corporate responsibility.  Some of the 2010 highlights include:   - Established new strategies to manage corporate responsibility.
- Expanded AMD Changing the Game to 3,000 kids in 3 countries. This is AMD’s signature educational program that teaches STEM skills through the creation of computer games.
- Developed a new set of aggressive environmental goals.
- Conducted a study demonstrating that AMD’s new Accelerated Processing Unit, the E-350 APU (a new technology that combines a microprocessor and graphics processor) has a carbon footprint that is up to 40% less than previous AMD technology generations.
- Aligned the employee volunteerism program with professional development, branded it AMD Community Corps. and increased the number of employee volunteers by 30 percent in the process.
- Upped levels of disclosure and transparency, achieving an “A” (self-declared) on the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) scale.   These are just a few of the highlights in the 2010 report.
