Arrow Electronics Employees Go the Distance for Girls on the Run

Jun 7, 2018 10:45 AM ET

This spring, Arrow Electronics employees in Denver, Reno and Columbus laced up their sneakers and hit the pavement for a good cause. Employees covered over 225 miles in support of local chapters of Girls on the Run.

While some participants enjoyed beautiful race days, others braved cool temperatures and wet weather to support the local work of the national nonprofit that uses mentorship and running to inspire and motivate girls, encourage lifelong health and fitness and build confidence.

“Arrow promotes meaningful community engagement where its employees live and work. Events like this are a great way to encourage our team members to do some good while having fun together,” said Alex West, Arrow’s global corporate social responsibility manager.

To support participating employees that completed 5Ks to marathons, Arrow covered and matched participants’ efforts with grants to various chapters of Girls on the Run through Arrow Charitable programming.

Arrow employees from around the world regularly engage with local nonprofits, extending the company’s collaborative and innovative culture into the broader community.
