HPE Inspiring Progress

When you picture the future, what do you see? It’s a question we constantly ask ourselves as we work to sustainably meet the data needs of the future. It’s the question at the heart of the Living Progress Challenge, our initiative that asks the global community to share ideas to solve the world’s toughest challenges. And it’s a question we will invite attendees to ponder and answer at Discover 2016 in Las Vegas, NV, June 7-9.

Discover is Hewlett Packard Enterprise’s largest customer event, where we showcase the latest technology developments from HPE and HPE partners. The event brings together industry-leading minds for three days of learning, growth and networking, which makes it the ideal place to envision a better future for people and business.

I’m excited to attend my fifth Discover—and my second with HPE. It’s always fun to see old friends, meet new customers and partners, and talk one-on-one with people about how we can solve the tough challenges that vex business and society.

Envision the future of the automotive industry

HPE is partnering with DS Virgin Racing to transform not only race-day performance but electric car performance at large. And that, we believe, has the potential to transform the entire the auto industry. At Discover Las Vegas, we invite attendees to join us in the Living Progress space in the Transformation Zone to explore the journey we’re taking with DS Virgin Racing, and then pick up a pen and share your dreams for the future on our vision board.

Imagine:

  • What are the opportunities and challenges that come from a world of fully electric, connected cars?
  • What benefits are associated with data and analysis? What about the potential risks, like security?
  • What impact will all this have on our world’s data centers—and how can we think differently about computing technology to address potential impact? (Tip: visit the Hewlett Packard Labs booth at Discover and see how our top innovators are working to answer this question with our biggest research project, The Machine.)
  • What does all this mean for the sustainability of our world?

Envision solutions that accelerate opportunity

Visitors to the Living Progress space can also see the top proposal winners, and engage with their favorite LPC ideas on a giant Living Progress Challenge coloring wall. The coloring wall, drawn by Austin, Texas, artist Will Bryant, first debuted at the Fast Company Grill at SXSW in March, and it got such rave reviews that we commissioned Will to create another wall for us to share with visitors at Discover 2016.

And join us at 10:30 a.m. June 9, for an inspiring Innovation Session (Session ID IS10088), when Chris Wellise, director of strategic initiatives, Living Progress, and Mike De La Cruz, vice president, Enterprise Services, discuss “Improving one million lives: Uniting IT and crowdsourcing for the most creative ideas.”

I’m gearing up for a creative, thought-provoking three days in Vegas, and I hope to see you there. Click here to register.

If you can’t make it to Vegas this time, I hope you will still share your ideas as you envision the future—either in the comments below or on social media using hashtag #livingprogress.
