Hospitality Industry Powers Down for Earth Hour

Eight years ago, WWF Australia invited supporters to take part in one simple action: turn off their lights for one hour to celebrate their commitment to the planet. Now, the grassroots movement has expanded across the globe, with landmarks like Buckingham Palace, the Empire State Building and the Eiffel Tower turning off non-essential lights on Saturday, March 29.

As companies and consumers alike band together to power down for Earth Hour, one industry is taking a disruptive approach to getting the message across. Fairmont Hotels & ResortsPark Plaza Hotels and Resorts and Caesars Entertainment Resortshave all joined the Earth Hour effort to bring awareness to climate change and environmental degradation, a major issue for the hospitality and tourism industry.
