ON Semiconductor: "Outstanding" and Platinum Award Winners!

Our company is committed to achieving continuous improvements in our corporate social responsibility (CSR) practices. To evaluate our progress in CSR, as well as benchmark against similar companies within the semiconductor industry, our company regularly participates in several third-party assessments of our CSR program.

One such assessment that we participate in annually is held by EcoVadis, an online CSR platform that measures the quality of a company’s CSR management system through its policies, actions and results. The assessment is based on four themes including environment, labor and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement. During the evaluation phase, companies are asked to provide responses and supporting evidence related to topics such as energy and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, product use, customer safety, employee health and safety, career management and training, anti-discrimination and harassment, anti-competitive practices and supplier social performance.

In December 2020, our most recent EcoVadis assessment submission, coordinated by ethics and CSR team members Candaice Robetoy and Cynthia Lambojon, achieved an outstanding score of 85 out of 100.

Our company has maintained this outstanding score since 2017. This score again puts us in the top 1% of companies assessed by EcoVadis in the manufacture of electronic components and boards industry* and earned us their new Platinum award. Previously, their highest honor was the Gold award designation, which we had maintained since 2013.

The outstanding score signifies:

     • A structured and proactive CSR approach

     • Engagements/policies and tangible actions on issues with detailed implementation information

     • Comprehensive CSR reporting on actions and key performance indicators

     • Innovative practices and external recognition

While there are many important reasons for us to participate in such assessments, one to note is that our customers review our performance in the area of CSR. A few of our customers are subscribed to automatically receive our scores through EcoVadis. One customer noted during their quarterly business review (QBR) they were proud to have one of their suppliers (ON Semiconductor) “with such an impressive score.”

Our strong commitment to CSR, as demonstrated through the company’s latest EcoVadis score, is only possible through the steadfast support and dedication of each of our sites, business groups and support groups!
