The âDiasporaâ weâre talking about today have established their identity as âthe privacy aware, personally controlled, do-it-all, open source social networkâ and theyâre âsocialâ since theyâre on Facebook, Twitter and Identi.ca.
On many a blissful evening when Iâm walking down Michigan Avenue (with a huge smile on my face) I stumble into my favourite retail stores. Lately, Iâm beginning to observe that amongst their latest fashion collection would be the familiar innocuous logo of some social media site peering at me from between those high heels Iâve been eyeing for a while. So theyâre also on Facebook I think to myself quietly.
Today, I write about a place I hold close to my heart and how my heart breaks to witness this tragedy from a distance. I have no words to express my sorrow or narrate the story in a coherent manner. So, I gather tidbits from my personal social media network and present this amalgam of information to my readers. Henceforth, are stories mentioned by friends and I give credit to each of them as I continue.
