The Connectory Adds Volunteerism to Its Platform; Boosts Engagement

Parents and teachers looking for science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) learning opportunities for their children can easily browse The Connectory to find what’s going on near them.

Yet the online portal, launched in 2010 by Time Warner Cable and managed by the National Girls Collaborative (NGC), was missing something.

Organizations that list STEM opportunities on The Connectory always had the option to indicate whether they were also looking for volunteers. But there was no easy way for potential volunteers to connect with the organization through The Connectory.

The folks behind The Connectory knew that if they were going to achieve their goal of being the go-to place for companies looking to engage youth in STEM, they needed to have a concrete way of engaging people in volunteerism. So, they turned to VolunteerMatch for help.

Since integrating the VolunteerMatch Network into their platform, their volunteer opportunities page has become among their highest visited sitewide.
