ABOUT Pepsico
At PepsiCo, Performance with Purpose means delivering sustainable growth by investing in a healthier future for people and our planet.
As a global food and beverage company with brands that stand for quality and are respected household names -- Quaker Oats, Tropicana, Gatorade, Frito-Lay and Pepsi-Cola, to name a few -- we will continue to build a portfolio of enjoyable and wholesome foods and beverages; find innovative ways to reduce the use of energy, water and packaging; and provide a great workplace for our associates. Additionally, we will respect, support and invest in the local communities where we operate by hiring local people, creating products designed for local tastes and partnering with local farmers, governments and community groups. Because a healthier future for all people and our planet means a more successful future for PepsiCo. This is our promise.PepsiCo Plants Across South America Continue on the Path to Incident-Free Recognition
The PepsiCo South America, Caribbean and Central America Foods (SACCAF) Incident-Free Environment Recognition Program reached a new stage, with 12 SACCAF plants still in the running. The program, which recently hit the 180-day mark, awarded 10 plants the Silver award, indicating six months without incidents. In addition, two other plants took home a Bronze award for completing 90 days without incidents.
The Incident-Free Program began in October 2011, with the goal of promoting safety in the work environment. Since then, a counting system has been put in place at all plants in the region, which corresponds to four categories based on number of incident-free months: Bronze for three incident-free months; Silver for six; Gold for nine and Diamond for one year. Those plants which reach Diamond status will be announced in October, and an event will be held in their honor.
"These 12 exemplary plants were awarded with a trophy and will continue competing for the next stage of the program," said Andreza Araujo, manager, Sustainability and Medio Ambiente, Salud y Seguridad - PepsiCo SACCAF. "The program offers a positive competition for the safety of all."
