GreenMoney Celebrates 25 Years of Promoting Sustainable Business and Impact Investing

(3BL Media/Justmeans) – In the early nineties, while “green” was still only a color for most businesses, institutions and media organizations, a few began to recognize that the achievement of sustainable development could not be left to the government alone. One of the earliest signs of support from the industry came in 1990 when the International Chamber of Commerce issued a “Business Charter for Sustainable Development.”

GreenMoney Journal, which was launched in 1992 by Cliff Feigenbaum, and followed by the website in 1995, became one of the torch-bearers in media to promote the idea of sustainable business and impact investing. GreenMoney focused on publishing innovative sustainable solutions from responsible companies, and featured top writers from the world of impact investing, renewable energy, organic agriculture, and ethically-made products.

After 20 years as a quarterly print publication, GreenMoney shifted to a monthly eJournal in 2014 to reach an even larger global audience. In 2017 to celebrate its 25th Anniversary Year, the GreenMoney tech team has upgraded and re-launched the website.

In 2013, GreenMoney Founder and Managing Editor Cliff Feigenbaum, was named “One of the Top 100 Thought Leaders in Trustworthy Business” by Trust Across America. In 2015 and again in 2017, Feigenbaum was named one of the “Leaders in CSR & Sustainability” by Corporate Responsibility (CR) magazine.

Paul Hawken, author and environmentalist summed up the mission of media outlets such as GreenMoney by saying that these publications are “drawing up new codes of conduct for corporate life that integrate social, ethical, and environmental principles.”

The July/Aug issue of GreenMoney features a variety of insightful writers looking at “The Next 25 Years of Impact Investing and Sustainable Business.” It also includes a spectacular account by Feigenbaum of the journey that has brought GreenMoney to the present.

The future of GreenMoney appears to be even more exciting. In its Sept/Oct issue, the publication is set to feature an article from Mary Barra, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of General Motors Company, who will be writing on “The Next 25 Years of Transportation and Sustainability.”
