"Over the course of the last month, CLA received many applications from committed nonprofits across the city. Each nonprofit articulated the unique and compelling challenges facing them as they move forward and sustain their organizations in this current economic crisis. The decision process was a difficult one as all of these organizations need assistance.

After thoroughly evaluating each proposal and working with our partner Justmeans, CLA identified the following group of finalists:

The winner of the year long engagement selected Friday, July 17th is The International Rescue Committee.

While the challenges presented by all the finalists were tremendous, the combination of the urgency and impact within The IRC matched the criteria developed by Cambridge Leadership Associates (CLA). Founded in 1933, The IRC, headquartered in NYC, has 14 US and 26 international offices serving over 12 million people a year. CLA will be working across the organization and assisting more than 80 country directors in NYC to develop foundational leadership skills using the Adaptive Leadership framework.

The program -

ADAPT New York, is a year long pro-bono engagement that CLA is offering one NYC area nonprofit organization. CLA will work with the nonprofit to co-design a comprehensive program that may include individual coaching for senior executives, leadership capacity assessments, team assessments, an Adaptive Leadership workshop for both employees and critical external stakeholders, and a leadership-immersion program for key managers working on the critical business challenges.

The Impact -

Through ADAPT New York, CLA will help your organization make progress on the critical issues you are currently facing and adapt to new realities. Working with CLA to co-design the programmatic support to your team, you will develop ways to:

·       Prioritize work that is mission critical; make tough decisions around what is essential and what is expendable in order to stay alive and thrive in the future;

·       Navigate a culture that is working through disequilibrium (post lay-offs or program cuts) while building trust and renewing collaboration across the organization;

·       Develop shared language and tools to help facilitate innovation around alternative ways to deliver on your mission;

·       Support changing leadership roles and responsibilities by championing the distinctions between leadership and management and engaging your team on how to adapt into their expanding roles.
