The Educational Alliance is one of the first settlement houses on the Lower East Side of New York City. Originally founded to help Eastern European Jews assimilate into American society, The Educational Alliance has proven to be a important stepping stone for all that have begun their American journey in Downtown Manhattan.
Now with 80 programs at 32 sites, we are proud to serve a diverse community of new arrivals and long-time neighbors, providing the kinds of programs, events and services that a community needs to thrive.

The Educational Alliance is a community-based organization offering a wide range of programs that integrate education, social services, arts and recreation throughout Downtown Manhattan. We are a Jewish organization, serving people of diverse ethnic, religious, and socio-economic backgrounds who live, work and learn in our neighborhoods. We strive to nourish the total person, strengthen family connections and build inclusive communities.
