Corporate Responsibility at Barrick Gold
Barrick Gold Corporation is the world's largest gold mining company. More than 20,000 people work at our mines, and last year we added $9.7 billion in benefits to the countries where we operate.
A wind turbine is assembled at Barrick Gold's Punta Colorada wind farm in Chile. At full capacity, the wind farm will be able to generate enough energy for 20,000 homes. Barrick Gold is investing $70 million in the project. At Barrick Gold, we prioritize responsible mining, which includes respecting the environment, sharing the benefits of mining with the people who live around our operations and in our host countries, and fostering a safe and healthy workplace for our employees. We operate mines and development projects in Argentina, Australia, Canada (Ontario), Chile, Dominican Republic, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Peru, Saudi Arabia, Tanzania, United States (Alaska, Montana, Nevada) and Zambia.
