The U.S. Chamber Business Civic Leadership Center (BCLC) works with corporate foundations, community relations departments, the U.S. Chamber’s network of 2,000 state and local chambers of commerce, and more than 100 American Chambers of Commerce around the world to improve the conditions for long-term social and economic development.
BCLC is run by Executive Director Stephen Jordan, who founded the organization within the U.S. Chamber in 2000. Our work is made possible through an excellent team of staffers, advisors, board members, and responsive and responsible companies.

At-a-Glance Accomplishments
BCLC has built public-private partnership initiatives that have grown into top priorities for the business community, including disaster response, community development, and education.
BCLC has helped to mobilize business aid for victims of some of the most devastating natural disasters in the past decade, including the Southeast Asia tsunami (2004-05), hurricanes Katrina and Rita (2005), southern California wildfires (2007), Cyclone Nargis (2008), Sichuan Province earthquake (2008), Midwest flooding (2008), and hurricanes Gustav and Ike (2008).
BCLC has assisted businesses of all sizes in increasing the impact and visibility of their corporate citizenship programs and forming the right partnerships.
BCLC has appeared in major news organizations, such as CNN, C-SPAN, Wall Street Journal, and Washington Post, to tell the story of business’ positive impact in society.
