Founded in 1998, the Hovde Foundation has been firmly and consistently committed to supporting the domestic and international community through a variety of charitable projects.  The Hovde Foundation focuses on supporting a variety of charitable causes including community development projects, multiple sclerosis' research, and microfinance in the developing world, to name but a few.

The primary focus of the Hovde Foundation, however, is building, organizing, and funding shelters for vulnerable children in the developing world.   In January 2006, the Hovde Foundation opened its first "Casa Hovde" shelter in Mexico City for homeless children living on the street.  Casa Hovde Mexico City provides a comprehensive range of care to 62 children who were previously living on the city's streets as a result of difficult circumstances at home--including poverty, domestic abuse, and substance abuse. The Hovde House is structured as a rehabilitative family home with the ultimate goal of enabling the children to reintegrate into a healthy and productive living environment.  Every aspect of the Hovde House is designed to assist in the rebuilding of the children's physical and emotional health and to contribute to the development of the skills necessary for their future independence. The Hovde Foundation is deeply committed to the Hovde House initiative and plans to build 20 of these homes over the next 20 years in locations around the world which are affected by child homelessness. We are currently working on opening our second Casa Hove in Huánuco, Peru for sexually abused and homeless children.
