IMPACT Silver Spring is a non-profit organization located in the heart of downtown Silver Spring. IMPACT brings people together, pooling energy and ideas, to create a community where everyone's voice is heard and where any one person, regardless of race or class, can make a difference and share civic opportunities and success.

IMPACT's mission: To create the capacity needed to build and sustain a thriving, multicultural Silver Spring. We do this by: raising awareness, developing leadership, building relationships, fostering dialogue and facilitating collaborative action.

Founded in 1999 to support the Silver Spring community as it faced the challenges and opportunities presented by extreme demographic and economic change, IMPACT trains and educates people to work collaboratively across lines of race, class and culture to initiate community change. Cutting edge programs, led by a team of talented facilitators and educators, stimulate cross-cultural dialogue, encourage civic engagement and explore the potential in the community for working collaboratively for growth and problem resolution. The results are community action and enduring change for a vibrant and thriving multicultural Silver Spring. To date hundreds of enthusiastic and committed individuals have participated and their leadership in schools, neighborhoods and communities, is contributing to creating our vision
