nef works on economic, social and environmental issues through a mixture of practical pilot projects and tools for change, in-depth research, campaigning, policy discussion, and raising awareness through the media and publications. nef also incubates new organisations and campaigns that can create long-term change in society. nef currently has three 'hot topics': real world economics, clone town britain, and well-being.
