NFF has provided financial and advisory services to nonprofit organizations in the Greater Philadelphia area since 1994.

Some of our work in the community:

NFF provided International House with a Nonprofit Business Analysis, a Systems Replacement Plan and a planning grant. This comprehensive approach allowed the board members to see the various issues facing the organization. Since our intervention, a board member made a landmark gift to assist with implementation of the recommendations made by NFF, and the organization was able to secure significant assistance for building upgrades from the State of Pennsylvania.

NFF’s relationship with Ambler Theater began in 2005 when NFF extended a line of credit and a second mortgage. The line of credit was structured for working capital purposes to cover operational shortfalls during the renovation period. The second mortgage was extended in order to refinance an existing loan that was due to expire and needed to be replaced with longer term financing. The theater is currently in the last stage of renovation.

In 2004, NFF gave Diversified Community Services (DCS) a $25,000 grant for each of their two centers, as well as a Nonprofit Business Analysis. The following year, NFF provided a Systems Replacement Plan, and was able to fund the installation of a sprinkler system and new security measures at one of its centers. As of 2007, both of DCS’s centers have increased their Keystone STAR rating to 4 (the highest rating) and are accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children.

Helping a state-wide community:

The Delaware Division of the Arts recently commissioned NFF to analyze and assess the financial state of the arts in Delaware. Using its proprietary analytic tool, NFF examined financial data for 33 Delaware arts organizations. The results of this study, State of the Arts: A Call to Action for Strengthening the Arts in Delaware , were presented on January 14, 2008 to government and private arts funders and arts nonprofits from throughout Delaware. The study has sparked a dialogue among these key stakeholders on how to preserve and strengthen a vibrant arts community in the state.
