Youth ALIVE! is a highly respected non-profit agency in the field of public health, dedicated to preventing youth violence and developing youth leadership in California communities. Founded in Oakland in 1989, when handguns and crack cocaine hit the streets at the same time and the youth homicide rate exceeded that of all other California cities, Youth ALIVE! now has additional programs in Los Angeles. The agency has received national, state and local awards, our programs have been replicated in many other states, and our research has been published in peer-review journals.
