Transportation Alternatives is New York City's leading advocate for cyclists, pedestrians and public transit users.

Your walk to the train, your ride on the train, your bike ride to work – these experiences are all improved by the work that Transportation Alternatives does. More space–better space–for pedestrians and bicyclists on NYC streets makes the city safer and more pleasant for everyone.

Transportation Alternatives is supported by over 8,000 members whose input shapes our campaigns and whose contributions are driving reform on NYC streets. And because this is New York City, the world is watching.

Transportation Alternatives will use funds raised through Liquidnet's Local Impact Challenge to win first-class protected bike lanes on key Streets in Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens.

Without TA, there would be no advocacy for cyclists and pedestrians. We need to be the most progressive city on the planet in this regard and TA leads the way. Without them, we would not have all the miles of newly created bike paths. Let's get cars off the road and get more people on bicycles and walking too. Lord knows, obese America would certainly benefirt from it. Thanks TA!!

TA is such a great organization. They've utterly changed NYC for walkers bikers drivers and businesses - all for the better with their rational, enthusiastic and intelligent ideas and diligent pursuit of a better way for all NY'ers to fairly share their spaces. I'm an enthusiastic member and have never seen a non-profit work so intelligently and well.

Conditions for cycling and walking in NYC have improved a lot during the past few years. Transportation Alternatives has been making great efforts and has its particular influence in this wonderful progress in quality of life for all New Yorkers and its visitors. Thanks a lot T.A. and please keep up your awesome work!

Nothing impacts New Yorkers as much as its public spaces. We walk, we bike, we take transit and we are constantly interacting with one another in our common spaces. TA has changed the way that New Yorkers and government looks at public space, not just to accommodate excessive vehicular traffic but as a resource that can be used to better the environment and community inherent in a city. The city is cleaner, safer and more welcoming, especially to more vulnerable populations such as children and seniors, thanks to the ongoing efforts of Transportation Alternatives.

I do not exaggerate when I say that TA has done more than any other single organization to improve the quality of public life in this city. Someday, historians of urban planning, wondering how NYC became such a functional and human city (we're not there yet, but we will be!) will look back and say, "There! It all began with Transportation Alternatives."
