We remain committed to mitigating impacts of climate change by managing our emission intensity through improvements in energy efficiency and portfolio adjustment in the short-term; and transitions to low-carbon energy sources and renewables in the longer term. Toward this effort, we developed an internal pricing mechanism in 2016 to better understand the impact of adopting low-carbon energy alternatives for our operations.
The advantages of deploying microgrids are abundant, with sustainability and reliability leading the charge. These are easy to communicate on a community level, but have more specific benefits when installed at military applications. Following on from U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) initiatives aimed at deploying more renewable energy, the cost-savings, distributed energy resource (DER) applications and energy security benefits be gained cannot be overlooked.
Based in India, Lithium Urban Technologies is pioneering a shift toward more sustainable urban mobility, operating the most productive electric vehicle fleet in the world. This company is India’s first 100 percent, zero emission transport service, providing a large fleet of electric vehicles (EVs) along with highly trained and certified drivers.
I’ve received many questions over the past few months about Ingersoll Rand’s commitment to reducing energy demand and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Those questions intensified this week with news of the United States’ withdrawal from the Paris Agreement on climate change.
