My mother always taught me about the importance of history and how critical it was to take steps to make your dreams come true. It may surprise you to learn that one of the things that inspired me to pursue my dreams was actually a roll of toilet paper!

Every now and then, I allow myself to revisit a time when I feared hearing the phone ring. That such an ordinary occurrence could induce deep emotion reflected the environment in which many of us resided. Knowing that the call could easily be the news of another friend having died or having been rushed to the hospital sometimes froze me in place.

It never ceases to amaze me how many social impact programs Keysight employees engage in worldwide. As the company’s director of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) I get a great view of much that occurs, but there are many times I hear about a program I wasn’t previously aware of. In fact, it happened just last month!
The rural town of Tandil, located some 350 kilometers south of Buenos Aires in the east of Argentina, relies on its road network to not only enable people to keep in touch with one another, but also to ensure rural, and sometimes remote businesses, are able to bring their products to market.
This small town has some 1,500 km of rural roads which are maintained by the Municipal Road Cooperative. It is working to help improve communication between smaller and less developed populations and local urbanized areas.
