New interview series to feature women empowering women
Joy Stoddard is the Development and Outreach Director for Whole Planet Foundation, the nonprofit arm of Whole Foods Market. We were lucky enough to have a conversation with Joy about her motivation to give back, stemming from her earliest job as a candy striper to her career with Whole Foods. Joy has traveled the world working with microentrepreneurs and shared her unique perspective of having sought out opportunities to make an impact through for-profit businesses and nonprofit organizations alike.
CHERRY HILL, NJ, August 8, 2017 /3BL Media/ - In celebration of its 50th anniversary, and in keeping with its philosophy of supporting local communities, Subaru of America, Inc. announced today its donation of 50 vehicles to Meals on Wheels America. This fall, 50 new 2018 Subaru Outback vehicles will be donated to select Meals on Wheels programs throughout the country, to be used in the delivery of an estimated 53,000 meals to an additional 3,700 seniors across 39 states.

The 10K is hosted by Whole Planet Foundation, a nonprofit established by Whole Foods Market. The foundation pledges to give 100 percent of registration fees to “fund microcredit loans to lift entrepreneurs and their families out of poverty in 69 countries.” Many of the entrepreneurs are women in developing countries. St. Louis STEM-Based Companies Invest in the Future
Each summer, St. Louis area companies, in collaboration with Washington University, invite approximately 200 teachers to the campus of Washington University in St. Louis for two weeks of in-depth STEM development. This includes new research-based methodologies and on-site experiences at local STEM companies to see practical application of some of the concepts that are being taught to make the connection between academia and industry.

Subaru retailers and the American Association for the Advancement of Science look to make an impact on Science Education

Wells Fargo team member Amy Cook started the nonprofit McKinsey Foundation to honor her daughter’s memory and commitment to fighting homelessness and poverty in Uganda.
After her 20-year-old daughter died in a 2015 car accident, Amy Cook turned a tribute to her daughter’s memory into her life’s passion. McKinsey Cook had done missionary work in Uganda building a home for young boys living on the streets in the capital city of Kampala. When her mission was over, she had intended to return full time one day as a missionary.
After the accident, Cook, a Wells Fargo phone bank manager, traveled to Uganda so she could experience the country and meet the people who had such a profound impact on her daughter’s heart.
