On March 9, 2018, at the ITB in Berlin, Hansjörg Kunze, vice president for communication and sustainability, presented a check for 42,265 euros to the Reiner Meutsch Foundation FLY & HELP for the reconstruction of an elementary school in Dinagat in the Philippines. The donation is part of the money raised from a charity raffle that AIDA traditionally holds aboard the AIDA fleet on New Year’s Eve. Severe floods destroyed many schools in the region in December.
During this past week, Smithfield Foods furthered its commitment to the communities in which it operates through two educational initiatives, one through employee volunteerism in Georgia as well as a cash donation in Ohio.

There is a lot going on these days to pay attention to, and not all of it is positive. But on this day in the last couple of years, I’ve tried to be intentional about recognizing the importance of International Women’s Day, both at our company and in the broader community.
Visibly, I’m a minority female in a leadership position at a tech company. So you might think I know a thing or two about diversity and inclusion in the workplace (affectionately known as D&I).
