The Adobe Foundation hosted the Adobe Youth Voices Summit 2011, "Media Beyond Borders", a three-day immersive media event for over 60 specially selected international youth (ages 14-19) in which youth create and collaborate on media projects exploring issues such as human rights, education and community. The summit took place August 2nd - Aug. 6th, 2011 at Santa Clara University and also brought together lead educators from around the world representing the core leadership of educators in the Adobe Youth Voices Network.
Adobe Youth Voices aims to empower youth in underserved communities around the globe with real-world experiences and 21st century tools to communicate their ideas, exhibit their potential, and take action in their communities.
MCP created a short documentary and photographic portraits of themselves in the Mile End area addressing stereotypes and using quotes from the film to express their views to those who may judge based on common misconceptions. The 2011 London riots reinforced the perception society holds towards young "hooded" men. The project aims to dispel these common myths of "hoodie" culture and create a meaningful dialogue between all members of the community.
