Arrow Electronics Holiday Giving Reaches Families on Six Continents

December 21, 2018 /3BL Media/ Families and nonprofit organizations on six continents received donations from Arrow Electronics and its employees during the 2018 holiday season.

“Arrow serves more than 80 countries, and we are grateful for the opportunity to support our neighbors in need during the holiday season and throughout the year,” said Chief Marketing Officer W. Victor Gao.

Our annual Pajama Drive reached new heights this year with the help of CyberGrants new Viral Engagement features. This is the fourth consecutive year we've collected pajamas to donate to families in need, but the first year we've been able to use our Viral Engagement features to generate even more excitement among our employees about our effort. A live leaderboard intensified our usual friendly competition and the activity feed allowed employees to be more engaged by sharing photos and team updates.

Ghana’s Volta Region has the lowest quality of education in the country. Girls are particularly affected by lack of education facilities, with enrollment dropping from 62 percent in primary school to only 8 percent in secondary school. Tetra Tech worked with nongovernmental organization Voices of African Mothers (VAM) and Cornell University Sustainable Design’s Sustainable Education Ghana (SEG) team to create a sustainable school for girls in the Volta Region. The school will create a safe-haven for 240 girls to receive quality education, mentorship, food, water, and shelter.
