FairTrade Tuna Fishery in Indonesia Achieves Certificate for Sustainability

SCS Global Services (SCS), international third-party certification body, is proud to announce the North Buru and Maluku Fair Trade Fishing Association tuna fishery as the world’s first fishery to achieve both Fair Trade and MSC Certification. The fishery leveraged its resource management system from its Fair Trade Certification to complete its MSC Fisheries Certification. SCS conducted the assessments for both certifications and confirms the fishery’s conformance to the standards, congratulating the small-scale Indonesian fishery on its enormous accomplishment.
