Program aims to connect one million Head Start children to garden education, fresh food each year

Too many children and families living in at-risk communities don’t have access to enough fresh, healthy food. And far too many of them have never had the opportunity to see, taste or eat some of the garden’s best-tasting, good-for-you produce.

Studies show that many children from at-risk backgrounds don’t have access to fresh produce on a daily basis. However, research also shows that children who grow fresh food eat more fresh food and are healthier as a result.

MIAMI, September 6, 2019/3BL Media/ – Continuing its ongoing efforts to assist and support residents of The Bahamas following Hurricane Dorian, Carnival Cruise Line has announced that two ships departing from U.S. homeports next week will make stops in Freeport to distribute food, water and relief supplies.

The stops at Freeport to deliver supplies will be part of Carnival Pride’s seven-day cruise from Baltimore departing Sept. 8 and Carnival Liberty’s four-day cruise from Port Canaveral departing Sept. 9.

Non-profits know that producing outcomes is key to securing meaningful partner support and funding.  Even when the non-profit gets results, many struggle to provide a clear picture of the positive impact they create. 

Limited data expertise, staff resources and inadequate data management tools are primary challenges to valid and clear outcomes reporting.  Another more vexing challenge is the fact that most non-profit professionals, along with their boards, partners and funders, are not trained in interpreting program data.
