The exterior horticulture department at The Venetian and The Palazzo received a Green Star Award from the Professional Grounds Management Society (PGMS).
The prestigious Green Star Award recognizes outstanding landscape design and construction. The PGMS is a nationally renowned leader within the landscape and grounds industry. The organization has been around since 1911 and is recognized as the leader in grounds management by publishing and promoting best practices guidelines for grounds managers.

I recently got a “back of house” tour of the huge Las Vegas Sands Corp. (LVS) property on the Strip, thanks to Jenny Yu-Mattson, Executive Director of Global Sustainability. LVS hosts some 50,000 visitors per day (18 million per year!) in more than 15 million square feet of space at The Venetian, The Palazzo and meeting and convention space. According to Trade Show Executive, Sands Expo and The Venetian Congress Center comprise the fifth largest meeting venue in the country.

The Convention Industry Council (CIC) has announced the results of a new research project, “Sustainable Meeting and Event Practices: The State of the Industry.” Study findings were presented at IMEX America, which took place at Sands Expo in Las Vegas from October 18 - 20. The study was co-sponsored by Las Vegas Sands, along with the Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau.
