The Convention Industry Council (CIC) has announced the results of a new research project, “Sustainable Meeting and Event Practices: The State of the Industry.” Study findings were presented at IMEX America, which took place at Sands Expo in Las Vegas from October 18 - 20. The study was co-sponsored by Las Vegas Sands, along with the Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau.
Three benches made of recycled aluminum as a result of separate collection

This is one of the results of the “Message in a can” initiative, which was launched earlier this year by CIAL (Aluminum Packaging Consortium), Municipality of Savona, Ata Spa (Savona Municipality Company for waste collection) and Costa Cruises, in order to promote and develop the collection and recycling of aluminum in the city.

Brandon Morrison grew up outside of Philadelphia where he would spend summers at the Jersey Shore. Spending time at the beach and being out on the water each summer growing up helped foster his passion for the environment. Over the years, Brandon took notice of the high turnover of vacation rentals and the staggering amount of trash that people would leave behind at the end of their vacations. He even witnessed people toss aside their perfectly good beach chairs if they knew they were leaving the next day. These experiences left Brandon with a desire to protect the environment.
