As someone who started her career in the non-profit sector, I know first-hand that making meaningful impact on a daily basis can be a struggle. There is no doubt that good intention, vast intelligence and valuable skills are not lacking in the current employee base of non-profit organizations but I believe the ability to attract and pay the experienced talent they need to magnify and grow their non-profit remains a challenge.

Executives from Comcast Corporation and Comcast’s Western New England Region, which serves 300 communities in Connecticut, Vermont, western Massachusetts, western New Hampshire and New York, recently held a virtual summit on the topic of veterans to raise awareness of the impact the digital divide has on them. As part of the event, Comcast also announced several donations worth more than $220,000 to support digital inclusion efforts in Connecticut, Vermont and western Massachusetts.

A Taylor, MI veteran remains thankful after more than a dozen people chipped in to replace his entire roof and fully upgrade his house to city code.

Fraser-based Premier Roofing and Renovations did the work for free on the home of Army veteran Brian Reaume as part of the Owens Corning Roof Deployment Project.

Owens Corning began the project in 2016 to “show gratitude” to veterans by upgrading roofs of those in need.
