Sands Cares, the corporate giving program of Las Vegas Sands, is dedicated to being a good corporate citizen, committed to its people, communities in which it operates and the planet. In each region, Sands Cares has Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) leads that manage the program and execute initiatives unique to each region.
The Beginning with Children Mentoring programme is designed to support the personal, social, academic and career growth of high school students. Mentoring relationships with Barclays volunteers have been successfully established, dedicated to helping students achieve their full potential. The programme, now in its ninth year, has helped over 75 students from Brooklyn to graduate from high school and enroll into college, 85% of whom are from low-income families.

Ashford was among an exclusive group of executives who competed with employees, celebrities and Special Olympics athletes in multiple Unified Sports challenges – all to raise money for Special Olympics and the Seattle community.
