During CIT Cares Month, more than 250 community projects were completed by 1,900 CIT volunteers over 7,300 hours across 18 locations to make a difference. These efforts included packing & delivering over 130,000 lbs of food, planting 1,300 lbs of vegetables, and cleaning parks and beaches across the country.
Team CXWorks partnered with Tech Impact to develop a curriculum for a call centre training programme in Nevada to support unemployed young adults. The team volunteered 250+ hours to deliver vocational training, resulting in employment being secured. In Nevada, almost 10% of young adults aged 16-24 are unemployed. Tech Impact provides workforce development programmes to disadvantaged youths in Wilmington, DE and Las Vegas, NV. Working with Tech Impact, Barclays colleagues created a curriculum for call centre training to establish a hiring pipeline in Nevada.
A week after 9/11, New York Governor George Pataki and New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani approached Meg Whitman, the CEO of eBay at the time, for suggestions on how to raise money for victims of the attacks. Putting in intense weekend hours, eBay staffers created Auction for America—a website that allowed eBay users to earmark auction items to benefit 9/11 victims. In short order, the site raised $10 million.

Microfinance loans and value chain services support smallholder farmers, women and entrepreneurship in Georgia
