The company arranged for prime exhibition space to be allocated to the De Beers Youth Innovators initiative, giving 15 young entrepreneurs a platform to showcase their talents to the 6,000 runners and a variety of corporate leaders, as well as the opportunity to gain media exposure.

The International Women in Mining (IWiM) photo competition, launched to coincide with International Women’s Day 2017 in March, has the theme of ‘impact and influence’ and is designed to celebrate the diversity, talents, energy and resilience of women at all levels of the mining industry.
Submissions – from women and men, professional photographers and amateurs – are invited from governments, academics, industry and communities.

The country was this year’s official partner at the Internationale Tourismus-Borse (ITB) in Berlin, and Botswana’s President Seretse Khama Ian Khama was among leading figures to attend.
Overall, from 8 to 12 March, more than 100,000 trade visitors came to the ITB, which featured 10,000 exhibiting companies from 184 countries and regions on almost 1,100 stands in an area of 160,000 square metres.
As well as sponsoring the Botswana Pavilion, the premium pavilion at the show, De Beers played a significant role in its design and execution.
