Most of the people who make Athleta clothes are women. Which is kind of fitting (pardon the pun) when you think about it. It’s also what drove us, back in January, to partner with Fair Trade USA to create more than 40 Fair Trade Certified styles. Because our mission is to empower women and girls to achieve their limitless potential. All women and girls, including the women making our tanks, tights and tees.
Americans drink more than 400 million cups of coffee per day. If tomorrow each one of us woke up and made just one cup Fair Trade, we would drive at least an additional $2 million dollars back to coffee farmers to help them address some serious challenges. In just one day. Because of one little choice. That’s pretty amazing.
Thousands to Attend Philadelphia’s Premier Harvest Season Event on October 7, 2017

Sands ECO360 global sustainability program now aligns its environmental performance targets with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and science-based targets
LAS VEGAS, August 9, 2017 /3BL Media/ – Sands ECO360, the global corporate sustainability program of Las Vegas Sands (NYSE: LVS) has released its 2016 environmental report. The report marks the company’s first annual measurement against its revised sustainability goals, building upon the success and key learnings of original targets set in 2011 and reported on through 2015.
Though corporate giving is a small percentage of all philanthropic monies given to non-profits in the U.S., it has an outsized opportunity to drive societal improvement and influence the hearts and minds of their stakeholders and the nation. (The organization Giving USA reports that about 5 percent of all philanthropy comes from companies each year.)
Communication comes up again and again in analyses of key competencies for sustainability leadership. Being able to build bridges between science and business, between the finance department and the sales department, between NGO concerns and board-level strategy, and then, get everyone moving forward across the bridge in sync. These are the tasks of a Sustainability Influencer, and they don’t come easily!
